Discover how aeromodeling helped change the world of aviation, and examine the astonishing craftsmanship and artistry of its masters. During the summer months, visit the 1,000-acre flying site and see Academy members fly their aircraft in competition, especially on weekends and during the National Championships in July and August.

Visitors can enjoy a quiet respite from the hustle and bustle by walking Christy Woods winding pathways past its beautiful floral gardens. This 17-acre wooded area located on the Ball State University Campus is home to the renown Wheeler Orchid Collection, an excellent collection of wild-type orchid species. Christy Woods offers trails and tours of Spring wildflowers, Autumn trees/leaves, prairie plantings, and a demonstration wetland area.

The Historic Wysor Street Depot was built in 1901 and was used by numerous rail lines. The building was closed for 43 years before its restoration and re-opening in 2004. It is now used as Cardinal Greenway headquarters and houses a gift shop, historical memorabilia, programs and events. The Depot is open weekdays and summer weekends. Stop by for a visit!

Located in the heart of Christy Woods, the Wheeler Orchid Collection is set in a tropical environment that simulates a rain forest, complete with rain, frogs and a small waterfall.
